Competency Gauge
Below is the Cookie Policy for our website. Please read it carefully.
Effective Date: March 13, 2026
Last Updated: October 23, 2026
This Cookie Policy explains what cookies are, how Prepared for Duty Recruitment Service Inc. (“Prepared for Duty”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) uses them on the Competency Gauge platform, the types of cookies we use, and how you can manage your cookie settings. The platform includes our information website at testing.preparedforduty.ca and our online testing environment at testing.preparedforduty.ca/pfdgauge. For more information about how we handle personal information, see our Privacy Policy at https://testing.preparedforduty.ca/privacy-policy/.
What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files used to store small pieces of information. They are stored on your device when a website loads in your browser. Cookies help a website to function properly, keep it secure, remember your preferences, and help us understand how the website is used so we can improve it.
How do we use cookies?
Our platform uses both first-party cookies, which are set by our platform, and third-party cookies, which are set by services we use.
- On our information website, cookies keep the site secure, remember your cookie choices and simple preferences, and help us understand how visitors use the site.
- In our testing environment, cookies keep you logged in, keep the platform secure, and remember optional preferences. We do not use analytics cookies in the testing environment.
We also use Jetpack Stats (a service provided by Automattic) to understand aggregate traffic and usage patterns on our information website, such as which pages are visited and general trends. Jetpack does not set additional analytics cookies for regular visitors.
Our contact and inquiry forms are protected by hCaptcha, a service that helps distinguish people from automated programs. To do this, hCaptcha processes information about your browser, device, and interaction with the form. hCaptcha may use strictly necessary cookies on its own domain to provide this service. For details see the hCaptcha Privacy Policy: https://www.hcaptcha.com/privacy
Our account sign-up form is protected by ALTCHA, which runs on our own server and does not use cookies.
Additional cookies are set for our own site administrators when they are logged in to manage the platform. These are not set for candidates or visitors.

| Cookie | Duration | Description |

Manage cookie preferences
You can change your cookie settings at any time by clicking “Consent Preferences” above. This reopens the cookie consent banner so you can update your preferences or withdraw your consent immediately. Necessary cookies cannot be turned off, because the platform cannot function properly without them.
